N7CW

Hello and welcome to N7CW's home page. I am Bud Semon, living in the north central Arizona town of Prescott. This site will primarily address ham radio topics with a bit of weather, family, links and other stuff that I think people might find interesting.

My significant other, Susan, and I moved from San Diego to Prescott in August of 2006.  Moving into a new house, furnishing it, re-building my station and putting up a new tower and antennas has been quite a challenge (see the link to the left for the tower pictures).  Additional antennas, landscaping, more antennas, house work, more antennas - it's been a struggle to get time to put up more antennas.

This site will change periodically so check back once in while.

Activities

I am active in the local ARES/RACES, in DX'ing and contesting (see the pages to the left).

Weather

You can use the link on the left to see the current weather at my location.  It is provided by a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station.  The sensors are mounted on a 15' mast almost at the peak of the hill on my property.  I am also sending the data to the Civilian Weather Observer Program.  You can find some additional data from my weather station at findu.com and here.   Here are some statistics since January 2007, when I started collecting data.  Note that the official National Weather Service rain year for Prescott is September 1 through August 31, so the rain totals reported by the weather station are based on that calendar.
