I think this is my favorite part of ham radio. I truly enjoy the competition to work new countries and I consider that I have friends all over the world. Although I'm not a big-time DXpeditioner, I have operated from a few countries. I went on a DXpedition to Antigua in 1979 with AA7A and K7JVR (SK) and operated as N7CW/VP2A. I was XE2GFW for a short time when the Mexican government was issuing callsigns to Americans. I have operated from France as F/N7CW and in 2003 went to Grand Cayman with K6AM, AA7A, and KY7M to operate ZF1A in the CW WPX contest (we were 4th in the world for Multi-Single).
I was an early member and past president of the Central Arizona DX Club and was a multi-year past president of the San Diego DX Club. I am currently a member of the Yavapai Amateur Radio Club, which is a general purpose club located here in Prescott. Hopefully, I will be able to stimulate some interest in DX'ing in the local ham community.
Visitors
Since Prescott is very close to paradise, I occasionally get visitors and it finally occurred to me that I should take some photos and share them. Of course, I didn't think of that until recently, so if you stopped by and your photo isn't here, please come back! Here are the photos.
